Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Advisory

The Thanksgiving holiday marks the beginning of the busy holiday driving period.

High traffic volumes are expected throughout the state and Illinois State Police urge motorists to drive safely and avoid the fatal four moving violations; speeding, DUI, seatbelts, and distracted driving.

Illinois State Police Troopers will be especially vigilant during the holiday travel period conducting road side safety checks and participating in enforcement details.

Please remember: don’t drink and drive, always buckle up, limit distractions, slow down, and move over when approaching an emergency vehicle parked along the roadway.
