Two Metro East Men Charged Following Shooting In Edwardsville

On Thursday, November 12, at approximately 3:50 p.m, the Edwardsville Police Department was notified of a shooting that had just occurred in a vehicle near the intersection of Bryant Street and Fourth Avenue in Edwardsville. The victim of the shooting was a 17 year old male from Glen Carbon. After being shot, the man reportedly ran from the vehicle and fled to Edwardsville Fire Station #2, on Montclaire Avenue, where paramedics began treatment and took him to a local hospital.

Edwardsville Police say many witnesses came forward to assist in the investigation. Police were able to identify a vehicle believe to have been involved in the incident and a state trooper later pulled the vehicle over in Cahokia. Two men, 25 year old Jermaine L. Harper, of O’Fallon, IL, and 24 year old Anthony M. Danley, of Centreville, were taken into custody.

The pair has been charged with one count each of alleged Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Bond for each was set at $150,000.
