County Board Sets Highway Engineer Salary, Makes Appointments

At its meeting Tuesday morning, the Bond County Board approved a resolution to set a new salary for County Highway Engineer Jeremy Pestle. For the new year, Pestle will be paid $88,065, the amount that was recommended by the state.

This is a one percent increase.

The Illinois Department of Transportation pays one-half of the county engineer’s salary. The county uses motor fuel tax funds to cover its share.

The county board reappointed Callie Durborow and Chris Wagner to the 911 Emergency Telephone Service Board.

County board meetings in 2016 will continue to be held at 9 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month and 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday.

The exception will be March 15th, the day of the primary election. The meeting will be held the following Wednesday, March 16th.
