County Clerk Randy Reitz On Ballot Vacancies

The filing period for candidates in the March 15th primary election has passed.

No one filed as a candidate for the Bond County Supervisor of Assessments position. Bond County Clerk Randy Reitz said there could still be candidates for the office in the November 2016 general election.

One option is that either party can submit a qualified candidate after the primary. Those candidates could file in Reitz’s office by May 31. The other option is that candidates could run as an independent candidate.

Parties also have vacancies in nomination for circuit clerk, coroner, state’s attorney and 2 county board positions.

Reitz said after the primary, nominations can be made by either party for those slots.
