Greenville Bicentennial Year Winding Down, Gala Tickets Available Through December 26

The year 2015 is winding down and it will be remembered by many area residents for Greenville’s bicentennial celebration.

With the Christmas season upon us, Rex Catron, Bicentennial Committee chairman, told Jeff Leidel, Greenville area residents already received their present in September at the two-day Bicentennial event. He said everyone had a good time and people continue to talk about it today.

The final Bicentennial event will be December 31st in the Greenville College Armington Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 and attire is semi-formal. There will be musical entertainment and a midnight toast to close out the year. Tickets are available at Watson’s Health Mart Drug Store, Greenville banks, and Third Street Market.

The final day to purchase tickets for the Bicentennial gala is December 26th.

The Bicentennial Committee members are having discussions regarding what to do with the leftover funds raised for the bicentennial.

A Bicentennial time capsule ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on December 31st at the Montrose Cemetery mausoleum.
