At least three referendums will be voted on at the March 15 Bond County primary election.
Bond County Clerk Randy Reitz reports that paperwork has been received for referendums by the Shoal Creek Fire Protection District and Hillsboro School District Number 3.
The Bond County Community Unit 2 board of education has also voted to place a facility sales tax referendum on the ballot, which will be voted on county-wide. Reitz said the district has until January 7th to submit the proper documents.
The Shoal Creek Fire District will once again seek an increase in its tax rate, from 30 cents per $100 assessed valuation to 40 cents .
A similar proposal was defeated by Shoal Creek voters within the past two years.
In the Hillsboro school district, the board is seeking permission to issue $34,500,000 in bonds to alter, repair and equip the high school/agricultural/vocational building, demolish the high school main building, cafeteria and gym structures, build and equip a school building and improve school sites.
Some land in northern Bond County is in the Hillsboro School District.
