A pickup truck and a semi collided on Rt. 143, about a quarter mile east of Dudleyville Road Thursday morning, sending one driver to the hospital. State Police report that a Ford F150 was westbound on 143 around 9:25 a.m. and crossed the center line into the path of a Peterbilt semi, which was traveling eastbound on Rt. 143. The semi driver said he saw the pickup enter his path, but was unable to avoid a collision. The pickup truck spun around in the roadway before coming to a stop and the semi rolled down an embankment on the south side of the roadway.
Bond County EMS and fire personnel responded to the scene to extract the driver of the pickup. The driver was taken to Greenville Regional Hospital. The semi driver was not injured.
Names of those involved in the crash have not yet been released.
