The holiday shopping season is upon us. While Black Friday always receives a lot of publicity, April Crew-Kelly, executive director of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, reminded local residents of the importance to shop at home.
She said shopping locally is a great opportunity to participate in the community and a very important part of the financial viability of the companies in the town. Crew-Kelly noted that when you shop locally, over 50% of that money stays in the community.

Crew-Kelly suggested thinking outside the box when it comes to local gift-giving. She said many Chamber members may not offer tangible items for sale, however they do offer gift certificates, or may present opportunities for a unique experience.
