Star Wars Opens To Great Fanfare In Greenville

The movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opened in the United States and Canada last Thursday.

The movie had the largest opening in movie history.

Dave Willey, owner of The Globe Theatre, said it was also a big night at the Globe.

Willey said about 10% of those in attendance on opening night were dressed in full Star Wars costumes. He said the crowds enjoyed the film, which was shown in 3-D and high definition.

Willey said attendance at The Globe was brisk throughout the weekend for the “Star Wars” film. It is being shown in the large theatre which seats 166 persons.

In the U.S. and Canada, the Disney movie grossed an estimated $238 million dollars in its first weekend.
