On Wednesday, the Bond County Community Foundation, through First National Bank, presented checks to seven Greenville charitable groups…money given by anonymous donors to the foundation.

A total of $42,500 was presented.
Alan Gaffner, Greenville mayor and president of the foundation, told those gathered that this was a significant day for the foundation as the gifts were the first awarded by the group.

Recipients included The Bond County Unit 2 Academic Foundation, the Bond County Pregnancy Support Center, the Comets Sports Boosters, the Unit 2 Character Education Committee, Greenville FFA, the DeMoulin Museum, and The Simple Room.
