55 year old Richard Hogg, of Highland, pled guilty this week to a five-count Indictment charging him in Count 1 with Distribution of Child Pornography, in Counts 2 and 3 with Receipt of Child Pornography, in Count 4 with Access with Intent to View Child Pornography, and in Count 5 with Possession of Prepubescent Child Pornography. Hogg was ordered to be held without bond in the custody of a US Marshal immediately after his plea hearing ended.
During their investigation, Hogg told authorities he chatted with young females online a “few times a month.” Hogg estimated that he had approximately 1,000 images and four videos of child pornography on his computers. The computers were found to contain 1,206 images and 54 video files of child pornography with many of the images being of prepubescent children.
On Counts 1 through 3 Hogg faces a term in federal prison of five to 20 years. On Count 4 Hogg faces up to 10 years in federal prison. And on Count 5 Hogg faces a federal prison term of up to 20 years.
Hogg will be sentenced on April 29 in East St. Louis.
