Pets Killed In Breese House Fire

A house fire Saturday, January 2, in Breese claimed the lives of family pets.

According to Breese Fire Chief Bob Wuest, the home on Fourth Street in Breese was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived shortly after 3:30 p.m. A pedestrian spotted flames coming from the home and reported the fire. Wuest said the owners were not at home at the time and the home is a total loss.

The cause is not known but Wuest said no foul play is suspected. The State Fire Marshall was scheduled to visit Monday to help determine the cause of the fire.

Firefighters were on the scene about three hours and firefighters from the Carlyle, Germantown, and Aviston Fire Departments provided mutual aid.
