State Won’t Remind Motorists To Renew License Plate Stickers

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office says it will be unable to mail out reminders to motorist to get their vehicles’ license plate stickers for 2016 as a result of a lack of a state budget. The action has resulted in many Illinois citizens driving with out-of-date stickers.

If you suspect you did not renew your license plates, check it out today. The sticker should be on your rear plate. You can renew your sticker online.

If your current sticker is expired you will have to pay a $25 late fee. To make matters worse, without a current sticker on your plate you could be eligible for a traffic ticket.
