The Bond County Community Unit 2 school district has a fact sheet available to the public regarding the facility sales tax referendum to be voted on at the March 15th primary.
Superintendent Wes Olson said he and board members, teachers, and principals have been asked many questions about the sales tax and the district’s goal is to provide as much factual information as possible. He said the sheet answers many of the questions that people have asked. Additionally, Olson offered to speak to any groups that may want to learn more about the proposed sales tax.

The sales tax fact sheet can be viewed on the school district’s website at bccu2.org. The superintendent can be contacted by telephone at 664-0170.
Registered voters from throughout Bond County will be eligible to vote on the one-cent per-dollar sales tax referendum, since approval of the tax would result in money for all districts which have students who live in Bond County.
If approved, the sales tax could only be used for new facilities, additions and renovations, various maintenance issues, and/or to refund bonds or abate property taxes levied to pay bonds issued for capital purposes.
