The only class being taught in Bond County Community Unit 2 on Monday was to several teachers, administrators and other staff members.
They were in the Greenville Elementary gymnasium, being trained or recertified for CPR and the use of AEDs, automatic external defibrillators.
Eric Swingler, principal at GES, told WGEL that the state mandates all district employees be certified in CPR and receive training in AEDs and first aid. Some students receive the training as well.
