The primary election in Illinois is March 15th.
In Bond County, three referendums will be decided by voters. They include the Bond County Unit 2 school district one-cent facility sales tax, a proposed increase in the tax rate in the Shoal Creek Fire Protection District, and a bond issue in the Hillsboro School District.
Bond County Clerk Randy Reitz told WGEL that residents can vote on referendums without declaring their politics by asking for a non-partisan ballot.

Reitz said for those who have more than one referendum on their ballot, they can vote on only one of them and their vote will count.
The county clerk said “early voting” should begin Thursday in his office. This is for individuals who are registered voters.
The final day to register to vote in the county clerk’s office is February 16th.
Grace voting will be conducted from February 17th through March 15th. This allows those who are not registered to visit the county clerk’s office, and register. They must vote at the same time.
