Greenville High School Students Recognized For Art

Two Greenville High School students have recently received special recognition for their art.

Audrey Blunt, a senior, became the first high school student to be featured in the Alton Telegraph newspaper’s artist section.

GHS Art Teacher Tim Gusewelle said Blunt has been very active in the art department. He said she has taken every art class she could during her high school career.

Gusewelle said another senior art student, Emily Petroline, recently excelled in a state competition, bringing home a gold key and three silver key awards.

Petroline, who is also in the independent study class, said the art piece going to the national competition is a pen and ink drawing.

Audrey Blunt of Greenville is the daughter of Grace Wilderman and Justin Blunt. Emily Petroline is the daughter of Dena and Phillip Petroline of Sorento.
