Greenville Jr. High Scholar Bowl Team Finds Success In Inaugural Season

This is the first year for the scholar bowl team at the Greenville Jr. High School.

The Bluejays’ varsity team opened with wins over Litchfield, Hillsboro, Raymond and Nokomis.

Susan Corbus is the coach. She said there had been talk about starting a team in the past and this past year, some new students had Scholar Bowl experience, leading to the formation of the team.

The varsity team includes 8th graders Eli Borwick, Daniel Kester and Zach Meyer and 7th graders Emma Nord and Will Sussenbach.

Junior varsity team members are 8th graders Ariana Williams, Will Wagner, Chloe Beckert, Jolie Harnetiaux, Abbie Brunk, Jade Neudeck, and Alexis Feaster, and 7th graders Gabe Wilson, Eowyn Dorethy, Justin Matthews and Cainan Grove.

The scholar bowl team is affiliated with the Illinois Elementary School Association. The Bluejays will be in regional competition toward the end of April.
