The Illinois Supreme Court has issued a mandate regarding the electronic filing of civil cases in circuit courts, effective January 1st, 2018. The deadline for the state Supreme Court and five Appellate court districts is July 1st of 2017.
Bond County Circuit Clerk Rex Catron told WGEL the Supreme Court has been pushing several electronic initiatives on local courts. He said for the most part, he believes that to be a good thing.
Under the new mandate, everything will have to be filed electronically as opposed to on paper. Catron’s office staff can provide technical assistance in doing so.
