Baseball Program To Benefit DeMoulin Museum

A special program entitled “The Ultimate Redbirds Fan Night” will be held Thursday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. with proceeds to benefit the DeMoulin Museum. The program is being hosted by museum curator John Goldsmith at his home and will include a tour of his extensive St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns collection, the showing of the 1982 World Series highlights film, and refreshments. Tickets are $20 each and a limited number will be sold.

The idea for the event came from the Greenville Women’s Club house tour, which Goldsmith hosted a few years ago. Many of the ladies on the tour commented that they wished their husbands could see Goldsmith’s baseball collection. The DeMoulin Museum board of directors loved the idea of utilizing the collection to raise money for the museum. Goldsmith, who has been collecting Cardinals and Browns memorabilia for over 35 years, estimates that he has at least 500 items. Highlights include game worn uniforms, pieces from Busch Stadium II, and ephemera dating back to the 1940s. There are nearly 2,000 autographs that can be seen.

The deadline to purchase tickets is 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. Tickets may be reserved by calling the DeMoulin Museum at 664-4115 or emailing goatmuseum@gmail.com.

The DeMoulin Museum, now in its sixth year, is dedicated to the founders, unique products, and employees of the DeMoulin factory. Located at 110 W. Main in Greenville, the museum is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
