Winners in the Bond County Historical Society’s quilt block contest have been announced. This year’s theme was “winter.”
A total of 13 entries were received, six in the adult division.
The first place award in the adult division went to Nadine Baldwin of Greenville. Nichole Koonce of Carlyle placed second and Betty Boehme won third place. Honorable mention went to Emma Nordmann of Lebanon.
In the children’s division, ages 5 through 8, the winner was Lucy Bowers of St. Louis and Rebecca Baldwin from Dayton, Ohio placed second.
First place in the children’s division, ages 9 through 12, was won by Samuel Bowers of St. Louis. Josie Maples of Greenville placed second, Anna Helmkamp of Greenville, third; and Brooklyn Seyler of Greenville received honorable mention.
In the age 13 through 18 division, Alexis Seyler won first place.
The quilt blocks will be on display at Saturday’s quilt show at the Greenville Free Methodist Church, and then will be in the window of the Bond County Courthouse annex the rest of March.
