County Board Makes Appointments, Announces Openings & Accepts Union Contract


In their recent meeting, the Bond County Board made several appointments to committees and boards and announced numerous openings on others.

Don Hawley was reappointed to the Pocahontas-Old Ripley Fire Protection District and Ron Shevlin was appointed to the Bond County Board of Review.

Openings were announced on the Mulberry Grove Sanitation Board, the Smithboro Fire Protection District, the Greenville Airport Authority Board, the Shoal Creek Fire Protection District, the Keyesport Fire Protection District, and the Greenville Fire Protection District.

The board also announced that there was an opening for an animal control officer for the county. The position will be advertised.

Following an executive session, the board voted unanimously to accept the Union Machinist contract that covers the next three years.
