The 14th Annual Bond County Historical Society Quilt Show was held Saturday with 91 quilts in the show and approximately 215 people in attendance.
Visitors were invited to vote for their favorites in four categories. Winners were Juanita Burge of Greenville for contemporary quilt, Dora Vinson of Alton for machine-made quilt, Nadine Baldwin of Greenville for baby/wall quilt, and the local Creative Stitchers group for hand quilted quilt.
Creative Stitchers was represented at the awards ceremony by Janice Tompkins and Jennifer Reed.
This year’s featured quilter was the Black Diamond Quilt Guild, which has 12 members. The guild had 30 quilts and other items on display.
During the show, June Wise was honored for her 14 years of service on the quilt show committee. She has retired as a quilt show committee member.
Quilt block contest winners were also recognized. This year’s theme was winter. Next year’s theme will be county fair.
