The Shoal Creek Friends of NRA recently held their 20th annual fundraising banquet to benefit shooting sports and responsible gun ownership across Illinois.
Don Niehaus, with Shoal Creek Friends of NRA, told WGEL the event was a successful fundraiser. Over $29,000 was collected, to benefit the NRA Foundation.
Mark Owensby of Rampart Range was recognized for 20 years of volunteer service to the Friends of NRA. The Mulberry Grove school shooting team received a grant in the amount of nearly $4,800. The Tri County Quail and Upland Game Alliance shooting team from the Ramsey/Vandalia area receive a grant totaling just under $3,000.

Niehaus said the 21st annual banquet is already on the calendar and will be the second Saturday in March 2017 at Copper Dock Winery.
