Greenville Tourism Committee Approves Habitat For Humanity Funding Request

The Greenville Tourism Committee met last week and approved a funding request from Bond County Habitat for Humanity.

Tourism funds in the amount of $450 were approved to help promote the Kelly-Miller Circus coming to the Bond County Fairgrounds in Greenville on Monday, April 18th. This is a Habitat For Humanity fundraiser.

A new budget for 2016-17 was discussed by committee members. The plan is to continue to fund 13 local events, upon request. These are in addition to the Greenville Graffiti car show and the Fourth of July fireworks.

Money will also be set aside for new event requests.

At the suggestion of Tourism Director April Crew-Kelly, it was agreed to add a line item for agri-business activities.

The committee received a report from two representatives of Illinois South Tourism about the use of social media marketing to promote events.
