A former employee at the Murray Developmental Center in Centralia is the defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The suit was filed in Clinton County Circuit Court against Christopher Duguay of Alton by the administrator of Todd Clemenz’s estate and Clemenz’s sister and aided by wrongful death law experts.
Clemenz, who was blind and mentally disabled, died on March 30th, 2015. Duguay has been charged with two felony counts of alleged neglect of a long-term care facility resident.
The lawsuit alleges Duguay “intentionally sprayed water from a detachable shower head directly into the deceased’s mouth until he vomited and thereby choked on his own vomit and shower water to the point that it caused his death.”
