The small trees along Junior High Drive, north of the Greenville Junior High School, have a new look, thanks to the art department.
Art Teacher Joanne Wagner told WGEL sixth through eighth graders worked to cover ten trees on the school grounds with yarn projects. Wagner, along with students who knew how to crochet, worked with students who didn’t know how to crochet and taught them. Some students worked on pieces during recess and at home.

The yarn decorations will be up until the end of the school year.
Wagner said several students have continued using their new skill.

Approximately 25 students turned in creations to put on trees. More than that they learned how to crochet. Wagner plans to continue the art project in future years, placing yarn creations on other items at the school.
