Mary Ellen Foraker, age 64 of Shattuc, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Mary Ellen was born on January 4, 1952, in Breese, Illinois, a daughter of Philip J. and Opal R. (Schuchmann) Golder. She married Jack H. Foraker Jr. on May 1, 1971 in Centralia, and he survives.
Mary Ellen is also survived by her daughter – Carrie Ellis and husband Michael of Jamestown; her son – Jack Foraker, III and wife Melissa of Irvington; 4 grandchildren – Jackie, Nathan and Sydney Ellis and Jean Marie Foraker; her mother-in-law – Wanda Hamilton of Carlyle; and her in-laws – Laura Fields, Heidi Pomeroy, and Jonathan Foraker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother – Ronald Golder.
Mary Ellen was the Director of Medical Imagining at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese for 42 years. She loved to work in her flower garden and to spend time with her family.
A funeral service will be held at Zieren Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, with Sr. Joan Markus, SSND, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in honor of Mary Ellen may be made to the Friends of St. Joseph’s Hospital and will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
