At their meeting Monday, the Mulberry Grove Village Board adopted an ordinance increasing water and sewage rates. For residents using both water and sewer services and whose property is within the municipal limits of the village, water rates will be $14.00 for the first 1000 gallons and $5.50 for each additional 1000 gallons. Sewer rates will be $7.50 for the first 1000 gallons and $4.75 for each additional 1000 gallons. For users whose property is beyond the Village limits, water and sewer rates are $20.00 for the first 1000 gallons and $9.00 for each additional 1000 gallons. For residents who do not use water, there is a $25.00 charge for sewer services. The tap on fee for water and sewer is now $350.00. The deposit fee remains at $200.00. The Board and American Legion are working on plans for the 2016 Mulberry Grove Picnic. Interested people and groups are invited to attend the next American Legion meeting Saturday, April 9, at 9:00 a.m. in the Community Building in the park.
It was announced the old gas station has been bought and plans are to demolish the building and clean up contaminated soil. The property will be prepared suitable for construction of a new facility.
