Lauren Robison was recently selected as the State FFA Proficiency Winner in Agriculture Education. Lauren is a member of the Mulberry Grove FFA Chapter of the Illinois Association FFA. Illinois FFA recognizes students in fifty-two different areas based on their work-based learning, also known as Supervised Agriculture Experiences or SAE. FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through record keeping, leadership, and scholastic achievement may be considered for this award. SAEs allow students to learn by doing by either owning and operating an agricultural business, working or serving an internship at an agriculture-based business or conducting an agriculture-based scientific experiment and reporting results.
Robison was selected as the State Winner by a committee of agriculture industry representatives and teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area. Lauren is the daughter of Kevin & Emily Hartmann from Mulberry Grove, IL.
Receiving this honor now makes Lauren eligible to compete in the National FFA Awards Selection process in July. She was previously chosen as the Chapter, Section and District awardee is this area.
Robison was also recently selected as the District 4 winner in the Varsity Prepared Public Speaking event. She advances to the state finals competition on June 13.
Robison has been involved in the following other agriculture education and FFA leadership roles and activities: Mulberry Grove FFA Chapter President, Prepared Public Speaking, Creed Speaking, Job Interview, Dairy Judging, and Agriculture Sales.
