Unemployment Rates Increase In All Illinois Metro Areas

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security, unemployment rates increased in all Illinois Metro areas in February compared to a year ago. The Illinois statewide unemployment rate was at 7.0% in February 2016 compared to 6.5% in February 2015. Locally, the rate in Bond County was 7.2% in February 2016 and 6.4% in 2015. The Clinton County 2016 rate was 6.3% and 5.1% in 2015. The Madison County rate increased from 6.3% in 2015 to 7.2% in 2016 and the rate also increased in St. Clair County from 6.8 – 7.3%.
