Charles W. “Charley” Vassier III, age 78 of Wood River, IL, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
He was born on Friday, May 6, 1938, in Alton, IL, the son of Charles and Alta (nee Bartlow) Vassier, Jr.
On Friday, January 29, 1960, he married Natalie A. “Tolly” (Gross) Vassier who survives.
He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ.
Charles was born in Alton, IL. He grew up and always lived in the Wood River area. He graduated from Wood River High School, Class of 1956. He served with U.S. Army. He was a carpenter for James Elble in Wood River. He went into business for himself and later he worked for Shell Oil Refinery for 20 years and retired at the end of 2000. He enjoyed keeping his car and everything neat. He enjoyed visiting with friends and helping others.

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL.
Private funeral service will be at Monday, May 16, 2016 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, IL., with Rev. Jerry Amiri, pastor officiating.
Private Interment will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana, IL.
