Roy Beisswenger of Greenville recently visited Washington, D.C. to visit the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
He is the president of the U.S. Ultralight Association and operates the powered parachute business, Easy Flight, at Greenville Airport.
Beisswenger and the president of the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association met with Peggy Gilligan, associate administrator for aviation safety with the FAA.
Beisswenger said they talked about several topics with Gilligan including rule changes for the way the FAA works with gyroplanes and allowing pilots to use light sport aircrafts for commercial purposes.
