Incumbent Georgia Shank has filed as an independent candidate for supervisor of assessments in the November election.
Shank, a Greenville resident, was appointed to the position by the Bond County Board in November of 2014. She filed candidate documents with County Clerk Randy Reitz on Friday.
The November 8th election will be the first time the supervisor of assessments is chosen by voters since a referendum was approved to make it an elected position.
All candidates for supervisor of assessments must have the proper credentials as designated by state law.
Independent and third party candidates have until 5 p.m. Monday to file petitions of candidacy with the county clerk.
The election is Tuesday, November 8th.
