Police Warn Of Scam

Greenville police were recently notified of a scam attempt.

A local business received a call from a man, stating he was a representative from Ameren.

The caller said the businesses’ power bill payment was delinquent and unless partial payment was made that day, the electric would be turned off.

Greenville Chief of Police Lou Lorton, said the business did the right thing, calling Ameren, sending no money, and contacting police.
