Approximately 40 superintendents are expected to attend an education rally on Fourth Street, just west of the Old Statehouse, in Vandalia Wednesday.
The public is invited to the event, which begins at noon.
Education funding and the state’s fiscal year 2017 budget will be the major topics to be addressed.
At Monday night’s meeting of the Bond County Community Unit 2 board, Superintendent Wes Olson talked about the purpose of the rally.
He said the group hopes to raise awareness of the impact of the budget impasse on school districts throughout the area.
