The Bond County Community Unit 2 Board of Education met Monday night and took action on several personnel matters.
Patti Mauer was hired as the Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at the high school and Nichole Spurgeon was approved as a half-time Kindergarten Readiness Program teacher at Greenville Elementary School. Spurgeon will also teach half-time KRP at Mulberry Grove.
Resignations accepted by the board included Harold File as the boy’s basketball coach at Pocahontas School, Matthew McPeak as a special education aide, and Alison Venhaus for tutoring, library clerk and assistant volleyball coach at the high school.
Food Service employees hired by the district are Sheila Long as head cook at Greenville Elementary School, Rebecca Zumwalt and Kathy Franklin as cooks at GES, and Katie Beckert as a cook at Sorento.
The board approved four summer employees. They are Kyle Klawitter and Grant Mitchell in maintenance, and Brianna Smith and Brianna Wade as part-time student summer office workers.
Smith and Wade are being paid through a Parent Initiative Grant received by the district.
