Kaskaskia College has scheduled a special community meeting for Wednesday, July 20, to discuss the discontinuation of the Licensed Practical Nursing courses at the college’s Vandalia Campus. The meeting will be held at the Vandalia Campus starting at 6:00 p.m. with KC President Dr. Penny Quinn, Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Dr. Dee Boswell, and other KC administrative personnel on hand to discuss the information regarding this recommended action, as well as gather input and answer any questions from the public.
The college is recommending to the KC Board of Trustees at its July 26 meeting to consolidate all of its LPN classes to the college’s new Nursing Education Center located on KC’s Main Campus. As a result, LPN courses at the Vandalia campus will conclude following completion of the Fall semester in December this year. The recommendation is being made in order to help the college meet challenges created by the State of Illinois’ budget impasse, and a reduction in the number of students taking LPN classes at the Vandalia site. No other classes or programs currently scheduled at Vandalia are to be affected this Fall.
If you are unable to attend and have questions or comments, you can email Mary Schulze, Director of the KC Vandalia Campus at email@example.com.
