Two juvenile boys were taken into custody at Smithboro Sunday afternoon by Bond County deputies.
Bond County Chief Deputy Jim Leitschuh said the department received citizen complaints about reckless driving in the village.
Officers responded and the juveniles were taken into custody about 4 p.m. at a Smithboro residence.
It is believed the suspects were driving vehicles that had allegedly been stolen Sunday morning at the Arthur Young dealership in Vandalia. Vandalia police reported they received a report of fuel thefts for two vehicles with dealer plates registered to the dealership.
Leitschuh said the juveniles were questioned by Vandalia police and released to their parents, pending the possible filing of court petitions.
