A two vehicle accident on route 185 near Indian Springs Golf Course claimed the life of an 18 year old Ramsey woman, Saturday just after 3PM. According to the Illinois State Police 18 year old Payge Donaldson was pulling out of the Indian Springs Golf Course onto route 185, and allegedly pulled out in front of a truck tractor pulling a trailer traveling westbound. The truck tractor was unable to stop in time to avoid striking Donaldson’s passenger car. Donaldson was transported to Hillsboro Area Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Eric Wehrle, age 40 of Vandalia, was taken to Vandalia Hospital with minor injuries. Route 185 was shut down for around 8 hours will the accident was investigated and the vehicles were removed. The investigation continues by the Illinois State police. The Coffeen Fire Department and Montgomery County Sherriff’s department also responded to the scene.
