The 2016 Bond County Fair begins this week.
The fair church service is Wednesday evening at the grandstand and Thursday is the first full day of the fair.
Fair Board President Craig Woker said a lot goes into getting the 75-acres of fairgrounds ready.
For the past few days, work has been underway by many volunteers to prepare the fairgrounds for the big event. Female inmates from the Greenville FCI have been assisting with lawn mowing duties.

President Woker said it is important for area residents to continue to support the county fair. He noted the $2 admission fee has been the same for many years while expenses continue to go up and support from the state has been delayed.
