On June 30th, a new Illinois budget was passed, but some of it is only for part of the year.
Anna Oestreich, director of Bond County Transit and the Bond County Senior Center, said the portion of the budget that deals with operating transportation for the general public was fully funded through the next fiscal year. On the aging side, however, the budget only guarantees funding through the end of September.

State money is also important to the senior center’s Meals on Wheels program and congregate meals served at the center.
Oestreich said the current funding for meals is only good until the end of September.
