Cyril G. “George” Warnecke, age 64 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.

He was born on Monday, October 8, 1951, at Scott Air Force Base, IL, the son of Sylvester F. “Syl” and Irene D. (nee Merscher) Warnecke.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. He was also a member of Arrow Group in Breese.

Cyril was born at Scott Air Force Base, IL, and grew up in St. Rose, Aviston and Highland. He graduated Highland High School in 1970. He had worked at Arrow Group, Breese, IL. He had helped with the St. Paul Kirchenfest and followed Cardinal Baseball, Rams Football, and Blue’s Hockey. Since the age of 15 years old he had suffered from epilepsy.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel, officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice; Shriner’s Hospital for Children; St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
