Donna L. Blankenship, age 56 of Greenville, passed away 8:05 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Bond County Hospice.
Donna Lynn, the daughter of Ronald Willis Blankenship and Sandra Cusick Daum, was born May 2, 1960 in Highland, Illinois. Donna grew up in Pocahontas, attended Pocahontas Schools and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1979. She worked for 12 years at Hillview Manor Nursing Home in Greenville as a CNA. Donna also worked at NEVCO Scoreboard in Greenville, Casey’s General Store and Jump’n Jimmy’s. Donna was working at Econo Lodge in Greenville until she was unable to work anymore. She was a loving mother to her 4 cats: Hero, Thunder, Stormy and Shadow. Donna was a big football fan and loved her Dallas Cowboys.
She is survived by her mother Sandra Daum and step-father Gene Daum of Greenville, her father Ronald W. Blankenship, and siblings: Christine Kuczka and husband David, Janice Pilkerton and husband Mark, Russell Blankenship and wife Tammy, Cheryl Michael and husband Chris, Carla Korte, Kenny Salmons and wife Robin, Dixie Bargetzi, Penny Jacobs, Dan Daum and wife Cindy, and Judy Nier and husband Dan. Also surviving are 2 nieces and 1 nephew: Aliegh Michael, Cordes Michael and Sarah Pilkerton.
