Pocahontas-Old Ripley Firefighters were called Monday, August 22, at 4:51 a.m., to a report of a hay bale fire at a farm on Falcon Road south of Pocahontas. Greenville Firefighters were called for mutual aid. According to information from the fire report, hay bales in a storage barn were smoldering. Firefighters pulled the bales from the barn and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported and firefighters were on the scene about an hour and 45 minutes.
