The Bond County Health Department is still waiting for payments from the State of Illinois for services provided last fiscal year.

Executive Director Mark Ayers said the department is owed over $158,000 for FY16 from the Department of Human Services. He said the money has been promised within the next four weeks.

Ayers said the department has programs under 22 state grants. For fiscal year 2017, the department filed for two competitive grants, Family Case Management and Healthy Families Illinois, and received them.

In their meeting this week, the health board learned that the Prairie Counseling Center received a $36,000 back payment from the state, for substance abuse services, which allowed it to operate with a $5,000 positive balance in June.
