Jerry Williams


Jerry Williams, age 73 of Carlyle, passed away in Centralia, Illinois on Sunday, August 28, 2016.

Mr. Williams was born on May 5, 1943, in Centralia, a son of Jerry and Mary (Aydt) Williams. He married Linda Lallman on August 10, 1985, and she survives in Carlyle.

Also surviving are his daughters – Julie Schroeder and husband Joe of Broussard, Louisiana, Christi Lappe and husband Tim of Aviston, Illinois, and Tara Ford of Carlyle; his grandchildren – Justin and Jack Schroeder, Lily and Emma Lappe, Montana Ford, and Brock Hawes; a great grandson – Langston Ford; a sister – Barb Spears and husband John of Odin; a sister-in-law – Melinda Williams of Centralia; his mother-in-law – Leona Lallman of Beckemeyer, and brothers- and sisters-in-law – Ron and Connie Lager and Randy and Debi Moss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother – Donald “Butch” Williams; and his father-in-law – Lavern Lallman.

Mr. Williams began his teaching career at Odin, and continued at Elementary District #12 for many years as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family and friends. Jerry enjoyed being involved in his children, grandchildren, and great grandson’s lives. He was a dedicated husband and family man.
