Thomas Charles Hauskins, age 65 of Adairsville, Georgia, and formerly of Carlyle, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at St. Sophia Nursing Home in Florissant, Missouri.
Tom was born on February 19, 1951, in Carlyle, Illinois, son of Thomas Jennings “Dude” Hauskins and Helen (Thompson) Rommelmann. He married Annika Heldkvist in Lund, Sweden in July of 1969.
Tom is survived by his son – Thomas Jameson “Jamie” Hauskins and wife Tammy of Adairsville; a grandson – Jared Summit of Adairsville; a sister – Cathy (Hauskins) Wolfersberger and husband Douglas of Urbana, Illinois; nieces and nephew – Kelly Wolfersberger, Karissa (Wolfersberger) Smith and husband Joe, Matthew Wolfersberger and wife Sara, Jennifer (Wolfersberger) Stowe; and many great nieces and nephews. Tom was a member of a very close family including many aunts and uncles and cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, mother, and infant brother – Richard Craig Hauskins.
Tom attended Carlyle High School. After high school he enlisted in the 101st Airborne and served in Vietnam as a helicopter repair technician. Following his service, Tom spent many years working in heating and air conditioning installation and repair. He enjoyed spending time socializing with family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and drinking a good cup of coffee. He was a very sensitive and caring person, and he will be missed.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
