FOLK, which stands for “For Our Local Kids” sponsored the Mulberry Grove picnic in August with proceeds to be used for new playground equipment at the community park. At the Monday meeting of the Mulberry Grove Village Board, the FOLK steering committee showed the board a picture of the playground equipment already ordered for the park. The equipment is Amish made and ready for shipment and installation. The committee recommended putting the new equipment in the same location as the current equipment. The board agreed this would be the logical place and village employees will remove the old equipment. The new play facilities will be installed this fall following insurance company approval. Shock absorbing material will be added in the spring after the ground settles. A 30’ x 40’ area will be needed for the first phase of projected playground equipment with additions planned for subsequent years.
Election petitions for village positions are available at the village office. Positions to be filled include mayor, clerk, and three board members.
