Ellard L. “Doug” Douglas Sr., age 88 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at faith Care Center in Highland, IL.
He was born July 03, 1928, in Madison, IL, the son of William and Lena “Seo” (nee Lybarger) Douglas.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 268 – Caseyville, IL,; Highland Sportsman’s Club.
Ellard was born in Madison, IL. He graduated Madison High School in 1946. He started working as sheet metal worker. He serviced with U.S. Army from October 1950 – October 1952 with duty in Germany as Corporal. He continued working as sheet metal man and moved to Highland in 1972. He worked for Langhauser Sheet Metal from 1972 – 1993. He retired in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, yard work and creating crafts. He followed sports – Old St. Louis Browns, St. Louis Football Cardinals, then Rams. He was a season ticket holder over 40 years.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Leonard Laetsch officiating.
Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Edwardsville, IL.
